March was a month of visitors. Meghan's parents, Chris and Kathy, Brad and Matt, my mother, and Amey were all here in the month of March! Other visitors, aka critters, also visited our home and Trinidad's shores, so have a look!

Carnival fever grips the nation, and we lend our Canadian spirit to the bacchanal! Endless days of dancing through the streets of Port-of-Spain in our costumed glory.

Visitors cross our doorstep! Jen manages to endure the rainy season on the back of the motorbike in December, and Meghan's grandparents came to warm themselves up under the Trini sun in January. We love having company, so if you are reading this, sign yourself up for a week with us!

Trinidad and Tobago are incredibly diverse islands which we continue to enthusiastically explore. Waterfalls, bat caves, hiking trails, and road trips all yielded some great memories and some great photos of the natural history of TnT.

Thanksgiving weekend finds us over on Tobago, the beautiful sister island to Trinidad. We thoroughly enjoyed the beaches, the snorkeling, the food, and some great friends to share it with.

Ah, finally a guest to entertain! Linda, in a sudden burst of airborne-ness, has landed in Trinidad and we have the opportunity to show off this great country. While Meghan works, Linda and I scuttle off to the beach or downtown. And just check out what we discovered up in the mountains of the North Range...

The bike remains in lock-up (in Customs' not-so-capable hands) so we continue to explore via maxi taxis or rides with friends. Weeks 3 & 4 seem to pass by kind of quickly as we settle into routines and lime with our neighbours.

Our explorations to date have not been much beyond the capital city, Port-of-Spain, and the nearby beach at Maracas Bay. The city houses approximately 100,000 people of primarily East Indian, Black, and Chinese descent. The beach houses only palms and sand and waves, and the Lawrences every weekend!

We have found ourselves living the "high life" in this townhouse overlooking a small valley on the outskirts of Port-of-Spain. Once we caught our breath from the steep climb, we were treated to a spectular living space opening out onto an equally spectacular view!
